PPR vaccination shows promise in Cowtribe communities

Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) is a highly contagious viral respiratory disease of goats and sheep causing up to 80 per cent mortality in flocks. The disease is present in most communities in Ghana. Cowtribe is seeking to increase farmers access to PPR vaccinations in 6 districts in the northern, and upper east regions using mobile technology. A total of 3,207 sheep and goats were vaccinated – the highest number ever recorded in the two regions within a year.
